Geoffrey "Geof" Darrow was born in October 21, 1955. He studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, and headed straight to the Hanna-Barbera studios, at age 24, to cooperate on television series like 'Scooby Doo', 'Ritchie Rich', 'Superman', 'Batman' and 'The Smurfs'.

But everything changed for him when, in 1982, he met Moebius. Yes, the great french artist, Jean Giraud. Moebius (Giraud) worked with Darrow in the movie Tron. Two years later, the two collaborated on a portfolio of prints named La Cité Feu (City of Fire). While also working on some side projects, he created his first actual comics character, 'Bourbon Thret', in 1986. In 1990, he teamed up with Frank Miller to create 'Hard Boiled' at Dark Horse Comics, followed by 'Big Guy and Rusty the Robot' five years later. Miller also drew Darrow into 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For', as Kevin the cannibal.
Geof has stated in interviews that he considers HergĂ©, Jack Kirby (who he worked with at Hanna Barbera), Tezuka Osamu and Moebius as his artistic influences. In the cinema field, Darrow has cooperated on the artistic conception of 'The Matrix' trilogy . For a very complete and easy Bibliography of Darrow, click here.
